It wasn’t too long ago that I was a bride (I still can’t believe that we celebrated our one year anniversary on June 30th!) and I have to say that I only have fond memories of all the stages of wedding planning. I thought a lot about it this weekend when I saw all of the details for our rustic wedding shoot at the Red Mill Museum Village.  I got to work with the gals over at NVS Events again and, as it usually goes with any events I do with them, they totally impressed me.  So here are some details about our own process, and some bits of advice for your own wedding day details. First and foremost is the invitation design.  For our shoot, we wanted it to match the overall feel that we got when we toured the grounds at the Red Mill Museum Village.  I love, love, love what NVS Events designed.  The hydrangea is just gorgeous, and it also makes several appearances throughout the event decor and even in the bride’s bouquet.

Once you have your invitation it’ll be the springboard for the rest of your wedding day details.  Create a response card that is just as pretty as the invitation.  I love the recurring design in ours – it reminds me of the lace that they wrapped around the bride’s bouquet and looks so beautiful next to the invitation and against this gorgeous burlap.

The next piece to a well-coordinated wedding is the seating cards.  It’s a way to tie in your theme again as soon as your guests arrive at the reception.  If your seating cards are simple then they will be quickly forgotten.  But if your seating cards are pretty, they may just get put into a special keepsake box… or at least make it to Instagram :)   I know that when Jay and I went to our first wedding together as husband and wife and I saw Mr. and Mrs. Jay Peterson on the seating card, I *may* have let out a squeal of delight.  So, yes, there *are* people out there who pay attention to these details and appreciate them, too!

Get creative with your seating cards display – it really makes a difference!  I love how NVS used these picture frames.  Plus we were lucky enough to find an amazing farm table at Trunk Vintage Rentals  to set up our seating cards and it really did a great job of showing off the display.trunk-vintage-rentals

Once your guests start looking for their table, why not match your table number, too!

And once at the table, create pretty menus for each setting.

A few other items you can have made include wedding programs, favor tags or stickers, and thank you cards.  And I’m sure NVS Events has a million other ideas to make your day perfect so if you’re looking for ideas, I highly recommend them.  Click here to view how NVS Events helped Jay and me with our wedding day details.

There you have it, ladies, pretty little details that can add so much to your wedding day!  And of course, Jay and I love photographing details so we’ll be sure to create fabulous pictures of all the special touches you add to your day.  I hope this post has inspired you. For more Tips for Brides click here. Happy Wedding Planning!!
