The Lead Photographer is responsible for guiding the artistic and logistical flow of the wedding day while upholding the established standards of Idalia Photography.
This role requires more than technical skill. It demands composure, decisive direction, and the ability to lead with clarity under pressure.
Responsibilities include:
• Executing the wedding day timeline with confidence and efficiency
• Providing refined portrait direction that feels natural and elevated
• Managing family formals with authority and grace
• Communicating clearly with planners, vendors, and clients
• Collaborating seamlessly with the Second Photographer and Assistant
• Maintaining consistent lighting and compositional standards
• Representing the Idalia brand with professionalism at all times
Lead Photographers must demonstrate strong command of manual exposure, off-camera lighting, and fast-paced problem-solving. Prior wedding experience is required.
This role is best suited for photographers who value structure, preparation, and the responsibility of shaping a couple’s visual legacy.

SECOND PHOTOGRAPHERS
The Second Photographer plays a critical role in expanding coverage and supporting the Lead Photographer throughout the wedding day.
This position requires technical proficiency, attentiveness, and the ability to anticipate moments before they unfold.

• Capturing complementary angles and candid storytelling moments
• Assisting with lighting setups and exposure adjustments
• Supporting portrait sessions with compositional awareness
• Documenting details, guest interactions, and environmental context
• Communicating efficiently within the team structure
• Maintaining consistency with Idalia’s refined visual standards
Second Photographers must be comfortable working in dynamic environments, adjusting quickly to changing light and pace.
This role is ideal for experienced photographers who are confident in their technical foundation and thrive in collaborative team environments.

The Assistant role is essential to the seamless execution of a wedding day. From lighting support and timeline coordination to dress adjustments and family portrait organization, our Assistants ensure that our Leads remain focused on refined storytelling and guided portrait direction.
Photographers entering our Assistant Pathway are trained within this structure, learning the discipline, pace, and professionalism required for wedding day excellence.
This pathway is designed for photographers who are eager to grow within a refined studio environment - developing real-world experience while contributing meaningfully to our couples’ experience.

Assistant Pathway
ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant plays an essential role in the seamless execution of each wedding day. This position supports both the couple’s experience and the efficiency of our Lead and Second Photographers.
Responsibilities include:

- Preparing and refining details during bridal preparation (veil placement, dress styling, boutonnieres, etc.)
- Assisting with timeline flow and ensuring key moments remain on schedule
- Organizing family members for formal portraits to maintain efficiency and clarity
- Supporting lighting setups and managing off-camera flash during portraits and reception coverage
- Monitoring environments for visual consistency and presentation
- Managing gear transitions and setup changes throughout the day
- Maintaining calm, professional presence under fast-paced conditions
- Capturing behind-the-scenes video content to support studio marketing and social storytelling
