Wedding Albums Explained For Brides

Albums

May 21, 2020

One of the ways I’ve been staying busy during quarantine is by designing albums! I have to say that putting together an album for our couples is one of my favorite parts about being a wedding photographer. There’s nothing like creating a tangible heirloom for a newly married couple, knowing that they’ll be able to pass their album on to future generations some day. I truly believe that your photos shouldn’t live on your phone. Photos should be printed! First and foremost, they should hang on your walls, reminding you of all the special moments in your life… but they should also be kept in an album. Because one day, inevitably, they’ll come off the walls, but you’ll be able to pass down your wedding album to your children and grandchildren to treasure forever.

All of our albums are flush mount, so the images are printed directly on photographic paper. Flush mount albums are the current standard in the wedding industry and they are gorgeous! The albums are layflat, so the pages will lay flat no matter which spread you open up to, and you’ll hardly notice the tiny gutter. Albums come in three sizes: 8″x8″, 10″x10″, and 12″x12″. Depending on your collection, your album may include 30 pages (15 spreads) or 50 pages (25 spreads) and you can always add on spreads later if you wish.

The Linen Album

The linen album is wrapped in an elegant yet durable linen bookcloth. This album is included in most of our wedding collections and I love that, while less formal than silk or leather, the linen album is just as sophisticated. Take a look:

You have the option of including a cover inset photo and/or imprinting. Here is a little comparison of our linen albums with and without a cover inset photo:

The Silk Book

The silk album is a light, airy, premium book with a beautiful fine art feel. Like our other albums, it’s beautifully timeless, too. I love that it comes in the elegant cream color pictured below, which looks stunning with foil imprinting!

The Leather Book

The leather album is made with old world craftsmanship and is covered in an array of luxurious European leathers, soft, supple lamb or gorgeous calf hide. This book has a more formal feel to it so it’s perfect for couples who want their album to be a statement piece. The leather album offers the option of imprinting on the spine in addition to the cover.

Stunning, right?!
