Kelly and Vinny | Sayen Gardens Engagement Session

Engagements

I’m so excited about this session because it just screams “Spring is here!” and “Love is in the air” all at the same time. Meet Kelly and Vinny. They are the such a sweet couple and we couldn’t be more excited for their wedding day! I met up with Kelly, Vinny, and their dog Penny at Sayen House and Gardens in Hamilton, NJ. The weather had me refreshing my browser every few minutes that day but we were lucky and the rain held out! We had a fabulous time exploring the park and taking advantage of the gorgeous setting. Here are my favorites from the session, along with some details about the happy couple!

How they met

We both graduated from Freehold Township High School, but did not know each other while we were there. One evening, at Retro Fitness, I was on an elliptical machine working out. As fate would have it, Vinny walked passed and began working out near me. I recognized him, but couldn’t figure out why I knew his handsome face. About a week later, the ever-so-famous, Facebook, suggested I add him as a friend. I couldn’t believe that right there in front of me was that handsome guy from the gym. I realized it was from high school that I recognized him, so I decided to add him. After a few months of flirty comments back and forth, Vinny messaged me to ask me out. Our first date took place at Solo Bella on January 10, 2011. We had to be kicked out because we were the last two people there and they were cleaning up for the night. Four nights later, we had our 2nd date, where we also had to be kicked out because they were closing. It did not take us long to realize that we had something special going on. So special, that now we are engaged to be married.

When they knew

Kelly: I think for both of us, it had to be when we would not see each other for a few days and would miss each other so much. The idea of spending time away from each other would make us sad, and would always give us something to look forward to. I don’t think it took too long to realize that we were meant to be together.

What they love about each other

Kelly: He cooks me dinner every night (only kidding :-)) His love for his family and friends.

Vinny: Even though I am not I am not an animal person, I love how Kelly cares deeply about animals and helps as much as she can with animals in need.

The proposal

Our proposal was a perfect moment between the two of us. We were at home and Vinny totally surprised me. We were about to leave to go have lunch with my grandmother, great aunt, and much to their surprise, my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, niece, brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew. It was a surprise lunch for my Grandma Alice and Great Aunt Estelle – they had no idea everyone was coming to surprise them. But, much to my surprise, I had no idea we would be going to surprise them with the surprise of my family and our engagement!

What they’re looking forward to on their wedding day (besides getting married!)

Vinny: Seeing Kelly for the first time as my beautiful bride in her dress.

Kelly: Celebrating our love with family and friends.

I had so much fun during this Sayen Gardens Engagement Session, it’s such a perfect place for portraits and I just love seeing such nice couples like Kelly and Vinny that are so happily in love. Kelly and Vinny, thank you for a fabulous engagement session!
