Nicole and Mike, one of the most joyful couples I’ve had the honor of working with! When these two are together, they smile from ear to ear and you just know they’re meant to be together. I’ve loved documenting their love story. I’ve had the honor of photographing their engagement session, Nicole’s bridal shower, as well as their ceremony the night before their wedding and of course, their big Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury celebration. Nicole and Mike dated for two years before he proposed on the beach, and their relationship has just been a fairy tale. It seems only right that they celebrated with a fairy tale wedding at Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury to begin this next chapter!
Fall Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury Wedding
Nicole and Mike were actually married the night before their wedding in an intimate church ceremony with their families. I love this for two reasons! One is that Nicole and Mike’s families are so close. Knowing they got to celebrate such a special moment together was so meaningful. The second is that I’m noticing more couples doing this private ceremony. I think it’s so sweet and a nice way to calm everyone’s nerves for the day of the big celebration. I’m honored Mike and Nicole asked me to document their special milestone the night before. The day of their wedding, they both prepared on site at Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury before we all met for a first look. My favorite moment was definitely when Mike saw Nicole for the first time. He was just beaming and made Nicole feel so special. It was so sweet!!
After their first look, we enjoyed lots of portrait time around Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury. I love this venue! It’s so elegant and is always a wonderful spot for portraits. Nicole and Mike hosted an evening ceremony where they wrote their own vows and then were able to enjoy their entire cocktail hour with their guests. Everything worked out SO well for them in terms of their timeline. When it was time for the reception, they wanted to practice their first dance. It was perfect and allowed me to capture some portraits of them in the ballroom before everyone entered. I absolutely loved the birds-eye view I could get from the staircase of them dancing! The team at Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury truly blew everyone away with the elegant setup! It was the perfect spot for their party. Their dance floor was packed all night and it was lively the entire time. To end the night, Nicole and Mike snuck outside for a few minutes and we captured portraits at night in front of the venue. It was the perfect end to their day (and way to end their album!).
