Nanina's in the Park Wedding Photos | Belleville NJ Wedding

Dominique and Peter met during their first year of law school at Notre Dame! They live out in Chicago, but for their wedding they chose Dominique’s home state of NJ to tie the knot. They found me thanks to my friend and past bride, Mallory. And I’m so thankful they did because they were just so wonderful to work with.

Both Dominique and Peter got ready at Nanina’s in the Park surrounded with their loved ones. They’re both such caring and genuine people, and I could tell they prioritize family. They even chose their parents for important roles that day – Dominque had her mother as her maid of honor and Peter had his father as his best man. I thought that was so special!

This sweet couple shared a first look on the grand staircase before heading out to their ceremony. It was such a joy-filled moment. And, I loved witnessing it and seeing Dominique and Peter hold each other, savoring the start to the day. These two planned a perfect wedding in spite of all the changes that came along with COVID-19. I’m sure at that moment they were just so relieved that it was all coming together and that they’d be married.

When it came time for their ceremony, we headed out to the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. It was my first time shooting at this stunning cathedral and, my goodness, what a stunning cathedral. It was so impressive! Dominique and Peter had a traditional Catholic ceremony complete with a church exit and receiving line. We took a few minutes for some portraits in front of the church and they were some of my favorites from the day! Back at Nanina’s in the Park, we took advantage of perfect fall weather to do portraits outside and, together with Dominque’s long sleeved dress, this day gave me all the fall feels. The fall color palette of wine and champagne was accentuated with pops of navy and made for a unique blend of flowers.

Dominique and Peter, what a wonderful wedding day you had! I’m sure this year brought about much stress during your wedding planning but you two made this day happen in such an amazing way. Your Nanina’s in the Park wedding was just perfect! Congratulations and best wishes for a wonderful life together!
