The Couple
You may remember Megan and Kevin from their recent Longwood Gardens Engagement Session. I remember walking with them through the gardens that day as I listened to their wedding plans, knowing right away that their wedding was going to be just beautiful and perfect for their venue, HollyHedge Estate! Their wedding day arrived last Friday and there was a threat of rain all day long, but Megan and Kevin never seemed worried about it – they were just so excited for their wedding day to arrive! When I asked them how they came to choose HollyHedge Estate one of the reasons they mentioned was that they wanted nature to be apparent in the environment where they would be married. They love historical places, part of the reason why they bought a house that resides on historical revolutionary land. HollyHedge Estate was a perfect fit for these two, and Megan knew it right away when she first visited it with her mother. The rustic barn, elegant ballroom, and beautiful grounds would provide the perfect setting for their wedding.
The Wedding Day
Megan and Kevin’s wedding day was filled with hints of their personalities and interests. Megan, being an English teacher and currently teaching British Literature, drew many ideas for the wedding day from text and reading. Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 was read during the ceremony, as well as “The Marriage Prayer” by Robert Louis Stevenson. Their antique key favors were reminiscent of old homes and buildings, just like Megan and Kevin’s own 1920’s house. The entire day was filled with beautiful details that we loved discovering. From the beautiful invitation suite complete with other coordinating stationery items to adorable ring dishes, the details of the day had me swooning as soon as I arrived. And when I saw the florals I was in heaven! The bouquets were filled with eucalyptus, ranunculus, roses, hydrangeas, succulents, calla lilies, and anemones to name a few! They were such lovely pops of color and fit the wedding style perfectly! Enjoy this peek into this beautiful spring wedding day.
