Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial Wedding

Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial Wedding Amy & Kurt | Associate Wedding by Marianne

Weddings

Last Saturday was a busy day for us! While I was capturing Trish and Mike’s wedding at Sandy Hook Chapel, Marianne and Sarah were associate shooting Amy and Kurt’s wedding at the Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial. The weather that day was so unpredictable and it rained for both ceremonies that day but one thing is certain – both of our couples that day lucked out with their wedding photos by doing a first look. I’m so glad we have beautiful portraits for them in spite of the rain that followed.

Amy and Kurt met in a freshman class while they were in college. They became friends and study sessions turned into breakfast dates before class and soon enough, they were attending church together on Sundays. After college, Kurt moved to San Antonio so these two were doing the long distance thing for a while but soon enough, Kurt proposed at the Historic Pearl and Amy and Kurt started planning their summer wedding.

These newlyweds looked at several venues before deciding on the Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial for their special day. They fell in love with their venue because not only was it more convenient for everyone involved, but every spot on the property was scenic. In the end, Amy and Kurt had a beautiful summer wedding – and picked the perfect color palette for their day too! They chose a dusty rose as their primary color with greenery accents throughout the wedding décor. It was so pretty! Amy’s bridesmaids carried bouquets with faith roses and eucalyptus. Amy’s bouquet was a gorgeous, fuller version of the bridesmaids’ bouquets with white hydrangeas, spray roses, pink ranunculus and white hypericum. It was the perfect summer bouquet!  I love how the florals helped to create their wedding style to fit their venue so well.

Amy and Kurt, congratulations! We wish you so much joy, love, and health in your marriage. Enjoy your trip to Switzerland! I’m sure you’ll enjoy Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, and Zermatt and you’ll love the amazing mountain views!
