The Wedding Day

Writing this blog post is bittersweet for me because it’s our last wedding post for the summer! If you haven’t heard from our recent IG post, Jay and I decided to take August off from shooting weddings, so this is our last summer wedding for the year. And we couldn’t have chosen a sweeter couple to end our season with! Sue and Mark were married last Saturday, on a day when we were supposed to have rain, lots of it, for the two hours following their ceremony and at the exact time we planned to do portraits. So on the eve of their wedding, Jay and I packed our stock of matching umbrellas for Sue, Mark, and their bridal party, and we began to plan for a portrait session in the rain. Luckily, I think all of Sue and Mark’s friends and families kept their fingers crossed for a dry day and it worked! Not only were we able to do family portraits outside, but we were also able to stop at the beach and the park for photos of our bride, groom, and their bridal party. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for Sue and Mark, and we’re so excited to share a glimpse into their day with you! After years of being in a long-distance relationship, these two lovebirds waited a long time for this day to finally arrive, and their day was full of so much joy and love. My favorite part of the day was getting to know them and their sweet families. Sue has several aunts that she is very close to, and they reminded me of my own aunts, and how much they mean to me. I know it meant so much to Sue and Mark to be surrounded by so many loving people on their wedding day, and everyone was so excited to share in their day. There’s nothing like getting married to the love of your life in the company of the people who matter the most to you!
