The Couple

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of documenting Megan and Tyler’s wedding day! We met these two college sweethearts thanks to Megan’s brother who was a groomsman in a wedding we captured a couple of years ago. We are always so thankful when our couples refer us to their friends and to their friends’ younger siblings! Megan started the day out in Ocean Grove in the prettiest Victorian house right across the street from the ocean. It was the perfect place for her to spend the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer setting for her getting ready photos. Megan chose a beautiful fit and flare Pronovias dress (that her sister actually found for her!) and it went perfectly with her loose bouquet full of white hydrangeas, quicksand roses, dusty miller, and eucalyptus. While Megan was getting all dolled up with her favorite ladies, Tyler started the day out in Bradley Beach with his groomsmen and family before heading to the church on a classic Long Branch Trolley.

The Wedding Day

All week, the forecast showed lots of rain so we prepared for what we thought would be our rainiest wedding of the year. Jay and I packed our stock of umbrellas and Megan ordered extra ones on Amazon, too. When I checked the forecast in the morning, it still showed rain, but not until later in the day, so we crossed our fingers that it would hold off until the reception. After the ceremony at Our Lady Star of the Sea we headed to Asbury Park for photos at the old casino in case of rain but we lucked out and we didn’t get any rain until the very end of the portrait session! We didn’t completely escape the elements because it was super windy but we’ll take wind over rain any day! After their portrait session, we headed back to Long Branch to celebrate at Mcloone’s Pier House. And by celebrate I mean PARTY – because these two and their friends and families take their celebrating very seriously, as you’ll see in the reception images below.
